Earl Snare Obituary
Earl Clarence Snare, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 1st, 2016 at Heartland of Marion after a progressing illness of a number of years. He was born July 31st, 1932 in Mt. Victory, Ohio, to Willis and Dorothy Snare. Earl married June (Fox) on May 3, 1953.
He is survived by his wife, June, 3 daughters, Wendy (Keith) Campbell, Kathy Snare, Karen (Phil) Kinney, and a son, Kevin (Ruth) Snare. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One great-grandson is deceased. Earl is survived by two brothers, Paul Snare and Charles (Pat) Snare, and one sister, Marjorie (Jim) Young, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Eloise Snare and Marilyn (Danny) Clayton.
Earl was a member of the Central Baptist Church and New Vision Senior Group. He was a 1950 graduate of New Bloomington High School. He began his working career at the corner store in Big Island where he met his lovely wife. He had several employments before he established his own business, Earl C. Snare Contracting. In later years, he managed a property owned by the Susse Chalet chain of motels/hotels, followed by management of a National Church Residences compound. He later retired and returned to Big Island where he enjoyed driving a bus for Head Start.
Earl enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and table games, particularly challenging his grandchildren to games of Checkers. He was well liked in the community and loved by his family. He will be missed, but we rejoice that he is no longer in pain. We shall see him again one day in heaven.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM at the Central Baptist Church. Services will take place at 11 AM at the church with Pastor Ryan Strothers officiating. Burial will follow at Claibourne Cemetery.
