Grace Dye Obituary
Grace Irene Dye, age 90, of Prospect, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Genesis HealthCare Presidential Center. On August 4, 1926, she was born to the late George R. and Sarah E. (Blair) Runyon, and on June 12, 1972, she married her husband John E. Dye, who preceded her in death in June of 2011.
Grace was a long-time member of the Berean Baptist Church, and she enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was also known for her homemade jellies, apple butter, and relishes, and she loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world.
She is survived by her children Barbara (Butch) Stapleton of Richwood, Juanita (Darrell) Keirns of Caledonia, Bonnie Handshaw of Texas, Connie King of Prospect, Rick (Mary) Goddard of Marion, and Sue (Mark) Waddell of Marion; her step-daughters Carol Gleespen of Marion, Sharon Miller of Marion, and Debbie (Mark) Drake of Florida; her sister Lilian Raynes of West Virginia; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents George and Sarah, her son Eddie, her daughter Debbie, her grandson Matt, six brothers, and four sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Services will take place at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Corey L. Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
