Naomi Sullivan Obituary

Naomi A. "Dolly" Sullivan, age 92, of Caledonia, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 9:55 AM in the Kingston Residence of Marion. She was born in Morral, Ohio on March 29, 1923 to John Warren and Sadie (Vorhees) Marshall. Dolly married Jack Nelson Sullivan in Marion, Ohio on November 13, 1968 and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2009 in Marion. Dolly's first job was at the Knick Knack store as a grill girl. She also worked at B.F.Goodrich during the war from 1943-1945. During 1943 she also sang on the radio at the local radio station. Following the war, she worked for Berlou for 12 years doing "re-weaving", a detailed fine art. She also worked as a shipping clerk for Berlou. In 1960 Dolly went back to work at B.F.Goodrich as a coiler and braider operator until her retirement in 1988. She and her husband; Jack loved riding their motorcycles and were in every state except Alaska and Hawaii. Dolly was a member of the Marion Lady-Ettes Motorcycle Club. Dolly is survived by a son; Thomas (Audrey) Gaither of Alabama, two grandchildren; Shelia Blain & Shawnette Tussing, four great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews including two nieces; Becky "Ann" (Mike) Abdoney & Debbie DeLong, a nephew; Ken Marshall, and a sister-in-law; Arlene Marshall. Dolly is also survived by her friends and caregivers; Linn & Colleen Fiant and Jim & Kay Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years; Jack, a very special,long time friend; Wilmar Bibler, a brother; Willford "Bud" Marshall, two sisters; Rosie (Howard) Lawson & Gloria "Joyce" (George) DeLong, and a nephew; Dr. John Lawson. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday, November 19, 2015, from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date in the Marion Cemetery. The family and friends would like to extend a special note of thanks to the staff at Kingston for their wonderful care of Dolly.
