Truman G. Ellinwood

Truman G. Ellinwood Jr., age 83, of Marion passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 10:32 AM in the Marion General Hospital. He was born in Richwood, Ohio on April 18, 1932 to the late Truman G. and Helen J. (Douglas) Ellinwood. He married the former Barbara Postell on November 12, 1953 in Wayne, Indiana and she survives in Marion. Truman graduated from North Union High School in 1951 and served in the U.S.Army during the Korean conflict from 1951-1954. He was a member of the Richwood VFW Post, American Legion Post 584, and Moose Lodge #889. Truman worked as a supervisor for the Whirlpool Corp. for 30 years and worked for Buckeye Tool & Die for 20 years doing research and development with parts for the Indy Racing League. He went on to teach welding classes at Tri-Rivers Career Center. Surviving along with his wife; Barbara are three sons; Greg (Joanie) Ellinwood, Jeff (Joyce) Ellinwood, & Keith Ellinwood all of Marion, OH., a brother;; Kenneth (Ethel) Ellinwood of Marion, OH., a sister; Becky (David) Doss of Marion, OH., seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Truman was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Pastor Dwight Hord will conduct the funeral service in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 AM with burial to follow in the Claibourne Cemetery, Richwood. The Marion County Veterans Council will provide military rites.
