Pamela Sue Hanshaw, age 70 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at her home. She was born on October 6, 1953 in Marion to Clara J. (Mitchell) and the late Arnold Ray Sparks.
Pam worked at the Juvenile Detention Center for 17 years, and she was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved spending time with family. The love that she had for her kids, grandkids, and bonus kids was like no other. She had so many friends near and far, including her many Farmville friends that she became close with over the years. She was that go-to mom for any situation; night or day, she would be there. Forever loved, her memories will live on with us forever.
Her children fondly remember her love of baking cakes and her insistence that Elvis Presley was their father.
She is survived by her mother Clara Sparks; her children Brandy (Mark) Gatrell, Jeremy Morgan, Melissa (Jon) Bosart, and Jeanna Hanshaw; her siblings Judith (Tony) Zwolle and Timothy Sparks; her grandchildren Erika (Michael) Mays, Teresa (AJ Ralph) Gendrow, Lisa Gendrow, Johnathan (Harley) Gendrow, Kyrha (Austin Crowe) Gatrell, Ian, Ethan, and Aden Gatrell, Xaylen and Maddex Morgan, Nautica Bosart, and Ava, Bo, and Jaxson Bosart; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Arnold Sparks.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 2:30 pm at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
