Helen Spillman

Helen Marie Spillman, age 69 of Russells Point, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Belle Springs Nursing Home. She was born in Marion, Ohio, on September 15, 1951 to the late Jesse and Grace (Bibbee) Spillman.

Helen was employed as a beautician in Marion for many years. She also worked for L & K Restaurants and A-1 Catering.

She is survived by her partner of over 30 years, Emerson “Sparky” Alspach, Jr.; her sister Linda Spillman-Kear; her brothers James Wiley (Betty) Spillman and John William (Brenda) Spillman; sister-in-law, Charlene Spillman; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She also treasured the relationships she had with her numerous cousins, as well as her 53-year friendship with Anna Breeding and her children Paul and David.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Grace Spillman and her brother Larry Ray Spillman.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 9:30 am to 11 am at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, where only 20 people will be permitted into the building at any one time. A graveside service will take place at 11:30 am at Grand Prairie Cemetery with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help cover the cost of funeral expenses.
