Karl B. Landon, age 95 of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Marion General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Karl was born on September 1, 1927 to the late George and Ethel (Eaton) Landon. He married the late Dolores Thompson in November of 1947.
Karl served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1949, followed by four years in the Reserves. He retired from B.F. Goodrich as a stationary engineer, and he was a member of the Prospect and Pleasant Senior Centers.
He is survived by his son Karl D. Landon of Marion and his daughter Melanie (Randall) Breneman of Prospect; his grandchildren Duane and Jennifer Landon, Kimberly and Kelly Stallsmith, Darren Landon, William Rodman, Molly Hill, and Brandon Fox; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his nieces Norma (Clair) Carlyle and Joanne Hunter and many more nieces and nephews; and his special friends Debra and Bob O’Donnell.
He was preceded in death by brothers Merle, Ernest, and Kenneth Landon and sisters Vera and Ruth, as well as daughter-in-law Donna Landon and great-granddaughter Lilly Hill.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11 am at Prospect Baptist Church, 213 N. Elm St., Prospect, Ohio. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
