Walter Conley, age 86 of Marion, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at his home. On April 2, 1938, he was born in Flatfork, Kentucky, to the late Marion and Birdie (Hall) Conley, and in 1962, he married the love of his life, Betty Carol (Reaper) Conley. They spent 62 beautiful years together.
Walter owned many successful businesses over the years, most recently The Hub Bar, which he owned and operated for 30 years. He enjoyed yardwork and traveling, especially to Florida. He was a generous man with a big heart, the type of man who would do anything for anyone, and he adored his granddaughter and niece. His wife was his everything, and he dedicated his life to her right up until the moment she passed away. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah Powell; his granddaughter Jodi Arp; his brothers Lee and Pres Conley; his sister Betty Jo Phelps; 4 great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews, including his special niece and nephew Kent and Shana Bosart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Conley; his sons Jeff and Bobby Conley; his brothers Jim, Calvin, and Paul; his sisters Lizzie and Janet Sue; and his parents Marion and Birdie Conley.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 12 pm at Marion Cemetery.
