Alice E. Hawk

Alice E. Hawk, age 88 of Marion, left this world on September 9, 2019 from Riverside Methodist Hospital. Alice was born to the late Clarence and Lalah (Powell) Austin on January 26, 1931 in Marion OH. After high school, she met and married her final love William “Bill” F. Hawk in Marion April 1953, who preceded her in death in 1985.

Family and friends knew Alice as one who said what was on her mind with a good sense of humor and who was funny without being aware of it. She was an avid TV watcher enjoying the Hallmark Channel and Judge Judy. She also enjoyed in her later years making unique gifts for kids in need through the “Touching Little Lives” at her residence of Willow Brook Independent Living. She also worked many years at General Electric of Bucyrus, retiring as a Plant Worker after 40 years.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Vernon, Clarence Jr., Dallas, Jerry, and Jack Austin; and her sisters Irene Ward, Mary Jane Wickmann, Jenevive Hickman, Melba Jean Reiff.

She will be missed by her children Colen “KC” Kelber of St. Augustine, FL, and Dawn (Ron) Potter of Delaware, OH; her sister Charlene L. Williams; her grandchildren Brenton C. Kelber, Heather A. Halt, Austin B. Harris, and Preston W. Harris; great-grandchildren Owen, and Maddison; and many other friends and family.

The family invites all to calling hours on 11 am to 1 pm on Monday September 16, at Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, OH. The service will immediately follow at 1 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Nathan McBeth officiating. Burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery.
