Donald Leroy Gear

Donald Leroy Gear, age 75 of Marion, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1943 to the late Leslie and Frances (Greer) Gear in Marion.

Donnie was involved in Carnivals/Fairs for many years, and he attended MARCA Industries, where he was quite a presence. He enjoyed crafts, watching television, and chatting with his staff and peers. He was close to his family, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his brother Eugene Gear, his sister Harrietta Orth, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Frances; his brothers William, Leslie, and Clark Gear; and his sisters Gladys Henson, Stella Gear, Bertha Belle Gear, and Mary Alberta Gear.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Services will take place at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
