Joann R. Morris, age 69, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 6:11 AM in the James Cancer Center. She was born on October 27, 1949 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Ernest D. and Estella Mae (Bridinstine) Middleton. Joann married JC Morris on August 22, 1967 and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2012 in Marion, Ohio.
Joann was an angel on earth before she became an angel in heaven. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, gigi, daughter, sister, and aunt. She walked through and conquered life with such grace and the will to always help others before herself. Nothing meant more to her than her family. Her children were her whole entire world and nothing brought her more joy than having her own children make her a grandmother and great grandmother. She had a love for pulling the lever on a slot machine that only her close loved ones understood. Joann was the glue that kept life together for her family.
Joann is survived by a son: Dale R. (Sarah) Morris of Jackson Center, OH.; 4 daughters: Buffy J. (Byron Rowlinson) Andrews of Marion, OH., Laura J. Morris of Marion, OH., Ginger L. Preston of New Wilmington, PA., & Kelly A. Kelly of Blacklick, OH.; a brother: Richard (Linda) Middleton of Marion, OH.; a sister: Sylvia Jewell of Marion, OH; 13 grandchildren: Ashley Boltz, Kaila DeWitt, Trey Crampton, L.A. Kelly, Darien Preston, Blake Morris, A.J. Preston, C.J. Kelly, James Preston, Brooklyn Gheen, Daeland Kelly, Alanna Morris & Maggie Abbott; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Joann was employed for 36 years with the Whirlpool Corporation as an assembler before her retirement in 2012.
