Myron D. “Whitey” Loyer age 87 of Marion, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born January 25. 1932 in Marion, Ohio to the late John Loyer and Bessie B. (Owens) Loyer-Berk.
In October of 1953 he married Charlotte (Henthorne) Loyer, she preceded him in death, then on July 7, 1978 he married Carol S. (Cornelius) Loyer, she survives in Marion.
Myron was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, was employed at MPS in shipping for 32 years and the Marion City Police Auxiliary for 10 years. And was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by her wife, Carol Loyer of Marion, his daughter, Deb Sharp of Marion, his son, Dale A. Loyer Sr. (fiancée Debra Lyons-Johnson) of Marion, his step-son, Scott Persinger of Marion, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myron was preceded in death by two brothers, John C. Loyer and Lowell Loyer, his sister, Vivian Winters, his son-in-law, Jerry Sharp and his grandson, Christopher Adkins. The family would like to say a special thank you to Bill Middleton and Crystal Thompson for all that was done.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10AM at Grace Baptist Church, 1560 Marion-Marysville Rd. Marion, Ohio with Pastors Nick Worden and Bill Middleton officiating, the Marion County Veterans Council will conduct a Military Service after the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
