Granville P. Combs

Granville P. Combs, age 79 of Marion, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence. On January 9, 1939, he was born to the late Harrison and Minnie (Smith) Combs, and on July 19, 1961, he married his wife Polly (Slone) Combs of 56 years, who still survives in Marion.
Granville worked for over 25 years as a door packer at Todco Overhead Door Co. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Polly; his daughters Liz (David) Bates and Brenda (Bryan) Singer of Marion; his "furry" best friend Scooter; his brothers Floyd (Dorothy) Combs of Marion, Denver (Vicki) Combs of Marion, and Sherm (Bessie) Combs of Austin, Indiana; his sisters Shirley Slone (Rick) of Marion, Glenda Combs of Kentucky, and Bertha (Pat) Elkins of LaRue, Ohio; close brother-in-law Denver (Rose) Slone of Waverly, Ohio; his five grandchildren; and his twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Minnie, his brother-in-law Bobby James Slone; his sister Della, and his brothers Elbert, Monroe, Russell, and Lloyd Combs.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Lighthouse of Prayer Church, 788 N. Main St., Marion, Ohio. Services will take place on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 12 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
