Lester Moench Obituary
Lester K. Moench Jr. age 86 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 At Dewolfe House in Marion.
He was born March 7, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to the later Lester K. and Jane (Egelhoff) Moench Sr.
Lester graduated from Worthington High School in 1950 and then from the Ohio State University in 1954. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
On December 16, 1961 he married Shirley Moench.
He was employed at GTE for 30 years, retiring as Division Manager. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, especially with his King's Mill buddies.
Lester is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Moench of Marion, two sons, Ken (Shelly) Moench of Holland, MI. and Gregg (Penny) Moench of Bangor, MI., five grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, William, Alex, Abby, two great grandchildren, his brothers, Gordon (Helen) Moench of Colorado, Charles Moench of Columbus, OH., his sisters, Janie Kaeser of Ashland, OH., Debbie DeWees of Columbus, OH., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 1 -2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Hord officiating. Burial will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11AM at Union Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Marion Senior Services in care of the funeral home.
