Lois Imogean Clewell passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 19, 2018, she was 88 years old. Lois was born to the late Carroll and Freda (Linscott) Pickering on March 30, 1930 in Marion OH. She was a graduate of Harding High School in 1948. The same year she married her high school sweetheart on July 30th, the late Charles P. Clewell. After marriage she and Charles moved several times throughout the United States, primarily residing in Sarasota Florida, before moving back to Marion in 1965.
Family and Friends were her passion and delight, although she enjoyed reading books, traveling, card games, playing bingo and social gatherings with her clubs.
Lois was a member of the VFW #3313 through her late husband, as well as the Moose Lodge of Marion #448, American Legion Post # 162, and the Marion Police Department Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA). She worked as an Assistant Manager of Retail at the Green Stamp Store for over 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll and Freda Pickering, her husband Charles Clewell, her brother Charles Pickering, her sisters Delores Belt and Juanita Bourque, and son-in-law Rick Perrill.
She is survived by her sons Bruce (Jackie) Clewell of Russellville KY, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Clewell of Caledonia OH, her daughters Nancy (Lester) Henderson of Lorain OH, Beverly (Richard) Kirby of Elizabethtown KY, Charlene (Kevin) Kilzer of Chandler AZ, and Tanya Perrill of Chandler AZ. She is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Friends and family may come to honor Lois's life on Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 5 pm -7 pm at Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, 122 W. Columbia St. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday October 25, 2018 at 10 am, and a reception will follow at the FOP Lodge, Route 309, Caledonia, OH, friends and family are welcome. Private burial service will be held at The Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton OH, on a later date.
