Rafael Velazco Obituary
Rafael Velazco, age 66 of Marion, passed away on Sunday July 30, 2017 at the OSU James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Rafael entered into this world on August 27, 1950 to the late Ernesto and Laura (Torres) Velazco in Bronx, New York. On May 21, 1978, he married Marsha E. Graham.
Rafael was a Pastor in the West Ohio Conference and currently was the Pastor at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Marion since 2004. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Daniel Velazco.
Rafael will be missed by his wife: Marsha (Graham) Velazco of Marion, OH; three sons: Christopher Scott (Amber) Velazco of Ormond Beach, FL, Timothy K. (Emily Stambaugh) Velazco of Bexley, OH and Cory D. Velazco of Columbus, OH; two brothers: Ernesto (Maria) Velazco, Jr. of Marion, OH and Manuel Velazco of Lake Havasu City, AZ; two sisters: Rosie Perez of Aldie, VA and Priscilla (Luis) Lopez Oklahoma City, OK; and two grandchildren: Brooklyn and Waits Velazco.
Friends and Family can come to honor Rafael's life on Wednesday August 2, 2017 starting at 6pm to 8pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday August 3, 2017 starting at 10am at the funeral home with Mike Fogle officiating. A Burial will follow the service at the Marion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monthly Free Community Meal Fund at the Oakland United Methodist Church.
