Robert Lusch Obituary
Robert L. "Bob" Lusch, age 90, of Marion passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at 10:55 PM in the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on November 12, 1928 in Marion, Ohio to Harold A. and Mary J. (Boger) Lusch. Bob served in the U.S. Army during WW II and went on to serve 12 years in the Army Reserve. On November 9, 1946 he married the former Barbara Jane Scott in Greenup, KY. and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2011 in Marion, OH.
Bob was an active member in the Central Christian Church where he served as a trustee and custodian for many years. He was a 26 gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross and helped construct 26 homes with Habitat for Humanity during his lifetime. Bob was a man that would help anyone with any task, truly enjoyed life, and had a sneaky little grin for all.
For over 50 years, Bob owned and operated Lusch TV & Hobby where he entertained kids with his slot car track and sold & repaired TV's. He also was employed at the Marion Power Shovel Co. for 26 years, spent 5 years as a custodian for the Marion City School System, and most recently a custodian for the Central Christian Church.
Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking many day trips with his wife, going to drag races, and helping his son construct hot rods in their spare time.
He is survived by a son; Tom (fiancée; Judy Rawlins) Lusch of Caledonia, OH., two grandchildren; Todd (Michael Hogan) Lusch & Nicole (Chris) Pieroni, and two step grandchildren; Bella & Nicholas Pieroni. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Barbara, and 3 sisters; Martha Jane Melvin, Wanda Maxine McCurdy, & Flora May Rease.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday, December 9, 2018, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the Central Christian Church on Monday at 11:00 AM conducted by Rev. Scott Ferguson and Rev. Merlyn Winters. A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Marion Cemetery. Contributions in Bob's name may be made to the American Red Cross or to the Central Christian Church.
