Roseanna Blackford Obituary
Roseanna Jean Blackford, age 89 of Wendell, N.C., passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 after a long battle with Dementia/Alzheimer's disease at the Oliver House in Wendell, N.C.
Roseanna entered into this world on December 1, 1929 to the late George D. and Amy P. (Dennis) Arnold in Marion, OH.
Roseanna was the youngest of eight children who was born and raised in the Marseilles/Marion area on a family farm. While in high school, she played the piano in church and continued playing piano the rest of her life. When she married the late Harry L. Blackford, Jr, they lived in many places across the USA with their children. She always loved her family and had many fond memories of her country life. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed many needle-crafts and quilting, very much enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Roseanna struggled with Dementia/Alzheimer's for many years toward the end of her life. She is now free of the bonds of this disease and can enjoy her treasured memories again. She has joined her loving husband and family forever in Heaven. Her family celebrates her release from this disease and the comfort and love she is now enjoying.
Roseanna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Harry. L. Blackford, Jr.; her son: Marc Blackford; her sisters: Dora, Mae and Dorothy; and her brothers: Lawrence, Harold, George and Wayne.
Those who are celebrating her release and memories are her sons: Jeffrey (Denise) Blackford and Bruce (Bella) Blackford; her nine grandchildren: Joseph, Daniel, Sean, Anthony, Landon, William, Brandy, Pam, Billy; her ten great grandchildren: Lucia, Ben, Matilda, Jacob, Shannon, Jeffrey, Jason, Jonathan Jr, Jonah, and Cheyann.
Friends and family may come to honor Roseanna's life on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 11am to 1pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, Marion, OH. A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow service at the Marion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
