Barbara Sue Rapp (Castle), age 80, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, in the care of the Marion General Hospital. On July 3, 1945, her late parents, Raymond Castle and Mary Blanton, would welcome her into the world in Paintsville, KY. Barbara was married to her first husband, Robert Lee Marks, Jr. for twelve years. She then would remarry to Wayne Franklin Rapp, and they would remain married for forty-two years until his passing.
Barbara graduated from River Valley High School. After graduating she rose through the ranks to become an officer for Chase Bank 20 plus years before retiring. In her younger years, she became quite skilled at sewing, making her the family seamstress. In her free time, she could be found working on a puzzle or reading a good book. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and being present for her grandchildren’s life events. She also loved hosting her family’s Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Martha (David) Daugherty.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by her son, Todd (Tanya) Marks, daughter, Shawn (Donald) Marks, sister, Ana Roper, grandchildren; Ashley (Tim) Severns, Amber (Randy) Bawks, Tyler (Erin) Pitko, Trent (K.C.) Pitko, Cory (Jamie) Marks, and her great grandchildren, Landon Severns, Hudson Severns, Kaden Marks, Branston Marks, Jaxon Marks, Vanessa Pitko, Jaceyona and Lathayn.
The Rapp family would like to invite Barbara’s loved ones and friends to the Boyd Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2026, for calling hours from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. A memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours at 2 p.m. Dr. Pastor Steven Roper will be officiating the service.
