Blanch Kahler-Sullivan Obituary

Blanche I. Kahler-Sullivan, age 79, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton, Ohio.

Blanche was born on July 11, 1941 to the late Harry and Virginia (Bartello) Kahler in Sharon, PA.  On December 10, 1978, she married Donald B. Sullivan in Arizona.

She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, doing jigsaw puzzles and spending quality time with her family.  Also, in her younger years, she had the pleasure of enjoying sled riding and bicycling.  Blanche was a missionary to the Navajo Indians at the Navajo Reservation in Chambers, AZ.  She also was an LPN by trade. She will truly be missed by family and friends.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Virginia Kahler, her stepmother Beautrice Kahler, her loving husband: Donald B. Sullivan of 29 years, and other family members.

Those who will cherish her memories include her stepchildren: Donald V. Sullivan of Newark, OH, Lula Dall of Marion, OH, Carol Cain of Marion, OH and Norma (Dan) Jones of Massillon, OH; her sister: Valerie Applequist of Wattsburg, PA; her brothers: Glen (Barb) Kahler of Globe, AZ and Marvin (Robin) Kahler of Salisbury, MD; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Blanche loving, witty and spunkiness will definitely be missed.  Her advice for today’s generation would be, “Always serve God with all your might and seek to do His will and it will keep you out of trouble.”

A private family graveside service will be observed at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in care of the Boyd-Born Funeral Home toward funeral expenses.  The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Sullivan family at this time.
