Carolyn Ruth (Johnson) Rush

Carolyn Ruth Rush, age 79, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, (Formerly of Marion) passed away at her residence on July 15, 2026. Carolyn was born to the late Claire Albert and June Elizabeth (Sparks) Johnson on February 17, 1947. Carolyn graduated from Marion Harding High School and would marry the love of her life, Raymond F. Rush Jr., in November of 1965. Carolyn worked at Special Mold Engineering for over 30 years in their accounts payable department.

Carolyn enjoyed Crocheting and cooking. During the holidays she was known to have the most ornate table settings around. Carolyn loved nature and her family often thought of her as a bit of a tree hugger. There was even an instance where she had to have some trees cut down on her property and she had to leave while it was happening. Carolyn also loved to keep up her appearance and always made sure she had a fresh manicure and pedicure. Above all else, Carolyn loved her family and spending time with them.

Left to cherish the memory of Carolyn are daughter, Susan (David) Nielsen, son, John (Chad) Rush, daughter-in-law Marianne Rush, grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Emma, Benjamin, great-grandchild, Hunter, special niece, Ruth Johnson, Sisters-in-law, Shelley Rush, Robin Alderman and Eleanor Johnson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn is preceded in death by parents, husband, son David Rush and brother, James Johnson.

The visitation for Carolyn will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5pm until 7pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10 am at the Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Harrison officiating. The committal service takes place immediately following the funeral procession to Fairview Cemetery (LaRue). There is a luncheon to follow at the Marion Country Club. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Carolyn Ruth Rush in their time of mourning.
