Charles E. Thompson

Charles E. Thompson, age 73 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Charles entered into this world on May 11, 1946 to the late Eskel and Martha (Fields) Thompson in Leesburg Township, OH.  In 1972, he married Christina Spurgeon.

 Charles served our country in the United States Army.  He enjoyed camping with family and watching the Ohio State University Buckeyes.  He will truly be missed by family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his step-dad: Roy Burke; grandchildren: Zachary Keaton and Liam Thompson; his sisters: Doris Thompson, Alice Blanton and Faye Welch; his brothers: Fred Thompson and Leonard Thompson; and his step-brother: Bill Burke.

Those who will cherish his memories include his wife: Christina Thompson of Marion, OH; his children: Gary Thompson of Marion, OH, Melissa (Bryan) Snare of Marion, OH and Lori Thompson of Marion, OH; his sisters: Ruth Ann Dunn of Marion, OH, Mary Helen Dunn of Marion, OH and Donna Queen of Portsmouth, OH; his brother: Kenneth (Patricia) Thompson of Marion, OH; his step-brother: Pat Burke; his grandchildren: Nicolas Keaton, Austin Keaton, Shasta Snare, Caitlin Snare, Bryce Thompson, Paige Krsnak and Irina Palmer; and his great grandchildren: Hunter Keaton, Luke Keaton and Christian Keaton.

Friends and family may come to honor Charles’s life on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 11am to 1pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 starting at 1pm at the funeral home.  Donations may be given in Charles’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio, Inc. at www.kfohio.org.
