Obituary

Rita Arlene Brutchey, age 88 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. On November 8, 1934, she was born in Prospect, Ohio, to the late George and Ruth (Keefer) Wheeler, and on March 20, 1967, she married her late husband, Junior E. Brutchey.

Rita was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family, and she also loved reading and doing word search puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter Deb (Jeff) Beveridge; her son Dean (Barb) Pine; her stepchildren Pam Cudd-Gruber, Kevin Brutchey, and Karen Patarozzi; her granddaughter Staci (Zach) Bond; and her great-grandchildren Lauren and Logan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Junior, her parents George and Ruth, her sister Ann Haserodt, and her stepchildren Roger and Sherry Brutchey.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 10 am to 11 am at the Boyd Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am at Prospect Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect Street United Methodist Church, 185 S. Prospect St., Marion, OH 43302.
