Robin V. Snyder, born in Vinton, Ohio on lucky Friday 13th of May 1921 and died on her 102nd birthday after battling several months of failing health. She was born the daughter of Edgar and Margaret (McGhee) Vance. Not sure how they met, but she married Jack Snyder on November 14, 1943 in Marion, Ohio. Long ago she worked in the silk mill gaining some lifelong friends as well as working for Sears downtown and at the mall. She had a passion for many things, spending weekends at their cottage at Lake Erie and fishing for perch and pickerel, playing euchre with friends, forming their own club as well as at the Marion and Pleasant Senior Citizens Center, and of course “The Buckeyes”, especially football, treking up to C Deck well into her 60’s.
Then there was volunteering for Marion General Hospital for over 5000 hours and Red Cross Blood Drives for over 10 years. Along life well lived, she is survived by a daughter, Janine Kawabata of Marion, OH., a son, David Snyder of Columbus, OH., and favorite grandson, Blake Kawabata of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and a son-in-law, Carl Kawabata.
