Ronald D. Gushwa age 89 of Marion, Ohio. He was born October 11, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Estell Johnathan and Vera Julia (Musser) Gushwa, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020. (As he said “Surprised Both Times”)
On November 2, 1953 he married Vivian Joan (Green) Gushwa, she preceded him in death on January 13, 2017.
Ronald was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Marion Power Shovel for 26 years as a Field Erector. He was a former member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, life-member of VFW Post #7201 and was the co-founder with his wife of Burial Relief Inc. in Marion, Ohio for several years.
He is survived by his daughters, Connie (Michael) Jackson of Marion, OH., Brenda Thompson of Marion, OH., his son, Dean Gushwa of Pendleton, OR., seven grandchildren, David Beaver, Joshua (Kim) Thompson, Travis Thompson, Kory (Lauren) Thompson, Kacie Thompson, Marc Gushwa, Lucas Gushwa, four great grandchildren, Jairus, Joel, Aiden and Temperance.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vivian Gushwa and four brothers, Ray, Darwin, Estell, Lee and his sister, Lorna.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10 am at Marion Cemetery with Pastor Marcellus de Olivera officiating.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Capital City Hospice.
