Steven Elmer Cochran, age 72 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 1, 2021 at this residence.
Steven was born on May 10, 1948 to the late Elmer and Julia (Abner) Cochran in Springfield, Ohio. On December 16, 1967, he married Hattie Webb in South Point, Ohio.
Steven worked at Quaker Oats for at least 22 years before it closed. Once Quaker Oats closed, he started his own auto shop until he could no longer work.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and his son: Steven Brian Cochran.
Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 53 years: Hattie Cochran of Marion, OH; his favorite daughter: Stephanie Cochran Harruff of Toney, AL; his son: Michael Cochran of Marion, OH; his brother: Keith Cochran of Coal Grove, OH; his grandchildren: Kiershayla, “Kiery,” and Shilah Harruff and Hunter Fitzgerald; and his great grandson: Beau Remington Fitzgerald.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 starting at 1pm at Highlands Memorial Gardens, 198 Private Road 1336, South Point, OH 45680.

154 County Rd. 450 in South Point, Ohio 45680. Tip: There is a red light on 52 East, turn RIGHT then immediate LEFT by the gas station. YOU will look back to the big parking lot and there is an old building there called “Whisky River Saloon”- it is a closed business. We will line up there to proceed to the cemetery of Highlands Memorial Gardens, 198 Private Road 1336, South Point, OH 45680.
