Vice President/Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Vickie, daughter of Carole Boyd and vice president of the funeral home, is a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
A Marion native, she graduated from Marion Harding High School, attended OSUM prior to receiving her registered nursing degree from Owens Community College in Toledo and her Bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Toledo. Vickie worked as a surgical tech. and then a registered nurse in surgery at Marion General Hospital for many years. She continued her career in Toledo, at St. Luke's Hospital, while receiving her BSN degree. Vickie completed an associate degree in Mortuary Science from PIMS (Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science), and is now a licensed funeral director and embalmer. She is the proud mother of two grown boys who are also involved in the family business.

Larry Born, nephew of the late Phillip Boyd, was practically raised in the Boyd Funeral Home. So it's only natural that he wanted to follow in his uncle's footsteps and pursue a career as a funeral service professional. He graduated from Marion Harding High School, attended the Ohio University and eventually earned his Mortuary Science degree from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1973. It was also in that year that he passed his national board. He has worked in the funeral service industry for the Boyd Funeral Home ever since. He currently serves as the manager of the now Boyd-Born Funeral Home. He and his wife, Jan, have raised a beautiful daughter, Brittany. Their nest has never been empty though, for they share a soft spot for God’s furry creatures. They are affiliated with the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Marion, OH. Larry enjoys sports car racing and auto restoration in his spare time.
Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Michael, son of Vickie McClellan, graduated with a Bachelor's degree from BGSU prior to graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and serving 6 years as a Reservist the United States Marine Corps infantry. After serving his apprenticeship at Evans Funeral Home in Columbus and passing his board exams, Michael has returned to Marion to join the family funeral home. He brings with him a wealth of practical hands on experience, new ideas, and his fiance, Kamaren, and their new daughter, Caroline. Michael is a member of the Columbus Bass Masters and loves spending his spare time fishing on any one of the nearby Ohio lakes. He is also has accepted the position of president in the Marion Midget Football league.
Funeral Director Apprentice
Marcus McClellan, grandson of the late Carole Phillip Boyd, joined the staff in late 2015. He graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo before attending Owens Community College where he graduated in 2017 with an Associate degree in Music Business Technology. Prior to relocating to Marion, his introduction to the funeral industry began when he worked for a removal service in Toledo. While attending OSU, he worked part-time for Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home and Buckeye Cremation Services. Marcus graduated from The Ohio State University in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communications and is now pursuing his goal of becoming a funeral director as our new apprentice.
In his spare time, Marcus loves working out and training his dog, Moshi.
Licensed Funeral Director/Certified Pre-need Specialist
Fred Schenk has been a licensed funeral director for nearly 25 years now while focusing on Advanced Funeral Planning with families for the last 20 years. He has met with over 8000 families during this time and has achieved the reputation of being a knowledgeable, caring, honest and helpful professional in the pre-need area. He has achieved the title of "Certified Pre-need Consultant" as bestowed by the National Foundation of Funeral Service. Over these same years, he has developed and nurtured a monument company that offers clients high quality memorials for a great value. Fred is a proud Ohio State University graduate from 1989, and resides in North Central Ohio with his family.

Alysse Morgason, a 2015 graduate from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. A native of Marion, Ohio and graduate of Marion Harding High School, she is excited about working with the people of her hometown. She is the daughter of the late Tommy Morgason of the Marion Cemetery. Her hobbies include writing, playing the violin, and playing with her cats.

Rev. Nathan McBeth, born and raised in Marion, is a licensed funeral director and minister. A 1993 graduate of River Valley, he continued his education at the Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Christian Ministries. In 1997 he married his high school sweetheart, Gale James, and they now have three beautiful daughters, Abby, Annie, and Alli. With over 20 years in the ministry, Rev. McBeth has served as pastor to two churches and is ordained through the Wesleyan Church. He and his family are active in the Dayspring Wesleyan Church of Marion, and Rev. McBeth is looking forward to serving the Marion Community in the years to come. His other interests include woodworking, crafts, and DIY projects.
Administrative Assistant
Jenny is proud to call Marion her hometown. She graduated from Harding High School and raised her two children here. She recently graduated from a program in funeral service and is finally working in her "dream job". Jenny has been been a positive addition to our staff as she looks forward to coming to work everyday. She loves her French Bulldog, Sal and her morning Starbuck's coffee, but her new love is her grandson Owen.
Funeral Assistant
Bill Hutchman is a lifelong resident of Marion, Ohio. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1985 and continued his education earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interpersonal and Public Communications at Bowling Green State University. Bill married Carrie Jones in 1990 and together have three amazing kids, Wade, Mitchell, and Meg. In addition to assisting us on evenings and weekends, Bill is a food service consultant during the day and a professional musician playing drums for Cherry Blonde, The Ohio Express, and occasionally portrays Mick Fleetwood in a tribute band called Fleetwood 2 The Max.
Funeral Assistant
Mike, born in Cleveland, was raised in Ashland, OH where he graduated from Mapleton Local School. He joined the United States Marine Corps immediately following high school where he was classified as a radio field operator and responsible for maintaining radio communications on the battlefield. He was active duty for four years during which time he was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom, making him a foreign war veteran. He then remained in the USMC for 4 years in the Reserves.
Mike attended Bowling Green University prior to graduating from Ashland University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Criminal Justice. Mike is grateful for the opportunity to help bring peace to families experiencing the loss of a loved one. He aspires to become a funeral director in the future.
Mike enjoys sports and the outdoors. One can often find him hiking, shooting on the range, hunting, fishing, or hitting home runs at the batting cages.
